Sculpture

My sculptures are representational of the model in pose and I build up the form with clay. The sculptures are then hollowed out before firing and finally a marble resin cast is made. I then work on design, using traditional Japanese handmade papers and texture to bring a further dimension to the piece.

My figurative couture is made up of 3 dimensional wall art and 3D free standing art

Figurative art or figurativism describes paintings and sculptures that are clearly derived from real object sources. My figurative couture is made up of 3 dimensional wall art and also 3 dimensional free standing art. These are very different from the traditional sculpture that sit on a table or window sill.

about Claire

I have always enjoyed pushing the boundaries of different mediums and techniques. My focus on sculpture has allowed me to explore different textures and forms, and my love for textiles has led me to approach art in a unique and three dimensional way. Experimenting with colour and finding new ways to incorporate it into my work has always been an essential aspect of my creative process.
